We have now received the letter from the HMI inspector confirming that safeguarding at the Academy is effective following the No Formal designation Ofsted inspection that took place on 11th-12th December 2018.
The full letter is available on the Ofsted website and can be downloaded here.
Many positive aspects of the school have been highlighted in the report. These include:
Governance: ‘ Governors know the school very well and offer leaders an appropriate level of challenge and support…. The governing body are a highly skilled and capable group of people’.
Safety: ‘General site safety is well managed. …Every pupil inspectors spoke to said that they feel safe….Pupils act responsibly and follow their teachers’ instructions with care.’
Parental Support: ‘Typical views shared by parents include: ‘We are full of admiration for the way in which the school has fostered and developed our children’ and ‘We cannot emphasise enough how wonderful and exceptional this school is and just how happy we are that we made the decision to come here’
Good Behaviour: ‘Pupils are diligent, caring and thoughtful. They enjoy coming to school and raised no concerns about poor behaviour or bullying… Relationships between pupils and staff are very positive.’
Strength in teaching: There are many strengths in practice, particularly in the school’s kindergarten classes.
The report also identifies priorities for further improvement, all of which had already been incorporated into the Academy Development Plan.
The school is very pleased with the report and is looking forward to working with Ofsted again if we are selected to take part in the pilot inspections in preparation for the introduction of the new Education Inspection Framework in September 2019.
We would like to thank all our parents for the support we received during the inspection and for the numerous positive comments and testimonies.
